Establishing Care at Precision Psychiatry
Initial Assessment
As a patient of Precision Psychiatry, you have access to a multidisciplinary team with complementary skill sets to enhance your treatment and elevate your experience. At your first visit, you’ll meet with a provider who will typically conduct a one-hour evaluation. During this time, you’ll be asked questions about your psychiatric history, medical health, family history, goals for treatment, and current symptoms.
Follow-Up Process
After assessment, if medications are initiated, you can expect to follow up at regular intervals with your psychiatric medication provider. These appointments typically last 20 minutes, and you’ll likely discuss topics related to psychiatric medications, mood changes, potential side effects, and changes to medical health. As this is a medical appointment, you’ll also see nursing staff for measurement of vital signs and updates to your chart.
Therapeutic Relationship
At Precision Psychiatry, our main goal is that you are informed, updated, and engaged in your care.
Therapy/Psychosocial Services
As part of your mental health journey, it may also be the recommendation of your provider that you be assessed for therapy services. Talk therapy, life/health coaching, psychiatric testing, occupational therapy, and various behavioral modification strategies are often an integral part of mental health treatment. Therapy services are performed by clinicians other than your psychiatric medication provider and typically provide a space to process life challenges, losses, and various emotional traumas.
Medical Services
In some cases, there may be underlying medical health concerns, such as undiagnosed disease states, aging, insomnia, illness, injury, obesity, and chronic disease, that impact mood, cognition, and executive functionality. Your provider may order labs, imaging, health coaching, genetic testing, or referral to other specialists to uncover and address these factors that impact your mental health.
