faq's

What causes cognitive impairment?

Cognitive symptoms may be associated with depression, anxiety, ADHD, sleep disorders, stress, medication effects, post-viral syndromes, aging-related changes, mild cognitive impairment, dementia, or neurological conditions.

Do memory problems always mean dementia?

No. Many cognitive symptoms are related to treatable or reversible causes, and not all memory concerns indicate dementia.

Is rTMS safe?

rTMS is FDA-cleared for treatment-resistant depression and is being studied for, and utilized off-label, to treat many other conditions including cognitive impairment. It is generally well tolerated. Our team will determine whether it may be appropriate for your situation.

How long does treatment take?

Treatment plans vary depending on symptom etiology and severity, and patient goals. Some interventions begin improving symptoms within weeks.

Follow-Up Process

After assessment, if medications are initiated, you can expect to follow up at regular intervals with your psychiatric medication provider. These appointments typically last 20 minutes, and you’ll likely discuss topics related to psychiatric medications, mood changes, potential side effects, and changes to medical health. As this is a medical appointment, you’ll also see nursing staff for measurement of vital signs and updates to your chart.

Therapeutic Relationship

At Precision Psychiatry, our main goal is that you are informed, updated, and engaged in your care.
